How does Clarity Credit Union protect my personal information?

How does Clarity Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • Open an account
  • Apply for a loan
  • Use your credit or debit card
  • Make deposits or withdrawals from your account
  • Give us your income information

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • Sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choice will apply to everyone on your account.

Definitions
Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Our affiliates include financial companies such as Clarity Credit Union and its Credit Union Service Organization.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Clarity Credit Union does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our join marketing partners may include a financial planner, an investment advisor, and companies that sell various types of insurance.
